The snowy was sitting in the dunes not doing much when this squirrel came up from behind her, stopped for a second, then scurried on down the hill. The owl had recently eaten and must not have been hungry. Thankfully, Axel saw this image in camera and can vouch for its authenticity, I've never seen anything like it. ;) (Maybe should go in wildlife, but I usually hang out here)

PS- After I posted this, I ran some USM on the entire image and it looks better, not sure how to repost. But you get the story here, just an unbelievable scene to witness.

Stunning light Grace, and what a sighting. In the animal kingdom, especially the cats, if they have eaten, their normal prey can walk past at a distance, and they wont even glance at it.

Very cool Grace. Very cool. Great to see predator and prey together in a happy affair. :D Better you post here, because the owl is bigger than the squirrel. (my silly reasoning) LOL! Another great natural history image and the story too. :)

Grace, I would say you have a very unique image here, for sure. How many sayings can you come up with to go on a wall poster for inspiration or caution etc...One that comes to mind for the squirrell is " Where are my glasses". Remember humor inspires. And this images does that and a good laugh. Well captured
