I took this just before he took off so no chance for a different angle and I wish the oof branch were not there. Thank you for looking and C&C encouraged and greatly appreciated.

    Hi Katie,
This is a sweet image...I like the perch...you can clone out the oof branch, but it does not bother me...the colors on your little guy are superb. I like the fine details and shiny feathers...the head angle and eye contact are dead on...congrats...well done...looking forward to your next one...:)

Katie, I never saw one before . Beautiful pose and HA -the eye looks a bit light but again I never saw one so can't say for sure. The OOF branch is an easy clone, you can do it! This is a great image and worth the fix!!!

Hi Katie Really nice image I would take it with oof branch and all !!!! If you want to do make it a project can go after the branch, do take your time since it has tricky parts !!! Big Congrats !!! .... btw that lens with a 1.6X camera is a lethal combination !!!

Katie, You shot this in Nambia! Lucky you-Do you have more images of unusual birds from that trip?

Hi Denise, yes and I will be posting more from Namibia; however, since it wasn't a "photography" safari I couldn't always get the light angles I wanted and sometimes my fellow travelers were impatient with me when I wanted to wait for the right pose/action or stop for "another" picture of a bird we'd already seen! All in all, it was a great trip but next time it is a photography safari for sure.

Lovely colours and framing Katie. Beautiful bird. I too have found that the 100-400 is really sharp with some light.
