    Do you guys think the lack of eye contact works? I mean this fellow was hunting around me in Pitt Town Lagoon (NSW) as it circled tighter to check me out for a minute or two before moving on.

    30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM + 1.4x, ISO400, f/5.6, 1/1250th cropped to pano to remove some empty skies above and below. But it is full width.

    I have no problem with the look, bird is hunting and paying attention. Lots of underwing detail and great pose, only softer light would have made it better Big Congrats !!!

    Congratulations on a very fine capture...I like the details in the under wing and the flight angle is very pleasing, giving your bird a sense of majestic grace...good show...:cool:

    Hi Akos, I agree with Alfred in that its a great pose and behavior with good detail.

    Hi Akos - Id be plenty happy with it - nice underwing detail and a good pose, as AL mentioned only improvment would have been softer light :)

    Love the wing position and the fine details you've captured. Agree with previous comments on the head angle.

    agree with al myself! i like it a lot. i do see a slight halo on the left side of the tail feathers. easily corrected. nice job!!
