Default Reddish Egret on the move!!

    1DM2n, 600mm... 1/1600, F4, ISO 320.. Full Frame

Reddish Egret was a bird I'd never seen before making my trip to Florida, but before I even left, I knew they would be one of my favourite birds of the trip! I wasn't disappointed to see their exciting foraging behavior. I had heard and seen videos of them "dancing" while feeding, but one thing I didn't know about was their ability to run - and run fast! Every once in a while, they'd give up on raising their wings, twisting, turning, having their feathers stand up, and sprint towards their prey. Even in deep water, they could maintain impressive speeds and I wanted to try to get a shot that portrayed that ability. This (i think) is the best I was able to do!

    Happy Shooting!

Wow! Cool action captured Brandon. Do you consider adding some canvas oK? If so, in front about as much as behind it, and even as a pano this would be fabulous!

Very nice action, Brando. I also feel it's very tight in front of the bird. It's OK to keep him to the right of the frame because of the splash but IMO it's too much.

Great moment captured, I like the details and light and like the idea of a pano crop with more canvas on the right.

    Brandon-

    Very nice image.
I would like to see them dancing while feeding.

As others have said - space in front is tight and makes it look like it is preparing to crash into the perimeter. I would not hesitate to use the power of CS2 to work on inserting that space into a fine image such as this.
