It's a nice image overall. I would run a bit of noise reduction on the background, even the bird. Compositionally, I feel leaving the feet out weakens it. The crop behind it is good, but without feet the eyes suddenly stop at the edge of the frame and if the image were mine, I would also trim the green band on top to get the bird tighter.
Hi Ilija,
A few points to consider here...the capture angle is too steep, need to get lower on the ground. The feet are cut off and so is the tail. The blacks are lacking details and the image is a tad under exposed, the head angle is off it needs about .50 of CCW rotation and down ward vertical adjustment...lets call this a good base record image and move on to your next one...
Yup, agree with the above.
BTW this is full frame and hand-held (1/40 @ 420mm )
Quite a nightmare weather producing
underexposed and burned parts in the same image.
I guess should have burned the BG and then try to do
something with it, have no idea what?
Hi Ilija You did big time great with that image Amazing sharpness for the low shutter speed and lots of color on the bird !!! Do find the crop a little odd and would prefer going even tighter to do away with the legs ...or go wider !!!
I didn't bother with composition,
I put this image out because I was surprised
with the 1/40 and ISO 1600 myself.
The combo is a result of the ISO AUTO on the Nikon D80.
I actually like that feature.
