There are a number of pigeons that nest in the rocks at the islands where the Bay Bridge Tunnel drops below sea level. I guess they scavenge the parking areas as well as the stuff that is washed up there by the waves.
Very cold, gray, blowy March day; natural light only. I was above the bird, with no options as far as moving around to get a better angle, so I could not eliminate the rock edge that intersects the head.
Olympus SP-570UZ, 92mm zoom; ISO 64, f/8, 1/30sec, handheld. Minimal crop in PSE7; selective sharpened and increased contrast in the eye; general edits: sharpened, increased saturation, contrast, fill light.
Well done Sir.
I like the color rendition of your bird, you display sharp details with a good head angle...the angle of capture is what it is given the conditions...good show...
You made the best possible image from your location About all you could do is wait for the pigeon to move a bit to line up the head with all rock behind !! Pretty bird !!!
