    Default Skipping Pelican.....

I noticed this Aust. Pelican hunting in the shallows on my local river twice in a row, so I quickly moved to the best possible position and lay on the bank. Sadly, the light is from side-on and there was no way to get further quick enough and then this head-on shot wouldn't have eventuated either. Cloned a little stick to the right of the head and cropped to about 70% of original.

Good EXP, wonderful pose and wing position and I do not mind the sidelight. The bank line intersecting the bird's neck and the upper half of the BKGR are far less than ideal.

Great pose with problematic light angle, meaning high contrast. BG may have been nicer if you had taken the image earlier, with all green behind him.

    Thanks for sharing :)

Agree with suggestions but the low angle, pose and action make it a keeper !!! I like it a lot !!!
