I just got my 1D MkIII back from Canon and was trying it out. This shot is one of the better ones. I am very paranoid and skeptical about this camera. All comments and input are valued.

Good wing position and head angle Light is a bit harsh but nothing much you could do about it

You gave the blacks as much exp as possible and they are a little blocked This same bird early or late would look very much different

If you include the tech info It would be better to comment Head seems sharp Glad to have you aboard

    Thanks Al,
This was shot a little late in the day, but I really wanted to begin to test the fix. I really appreciate all input!!!

    Hello,

I have to agree with Al's comments. The wings are in perfect position and the light is just a hair too strong.

    Stuart,

    First a big welcome!

Besides the above comments I see this in your follow up post " Aperture f/2.8". This is pushing it for this type shot to get good DOF. I am surprised you did as well as you did actually! Stop down a bit to maybe f8 or so and see how she works.

Thanks for posting the tech info George is right Take advantage of the clean ISO of the MK3 and stop down while keeping your shutter speed

As close as that bird was the dof was minimal !!!!
