I was standing on my driveway this afternoon when i saw the STK gliding along looking for a snack. I was able to run inside grab the camera and get a few shots.

    Well done Adams,
I like the fine sharp details in the under wing, and the wide spread wings...my suggestion would be to crop this into a pano and increase or boost up the high-key background...good show...

    Hi Gus,
This is about a 50% crop already, lately the kites are very active around my house, I will try to get a shot were i don't have to crop so much. I don't like croping more than 20 to 30% of the image.

I like Gus's suggestions, very nicely captured and wish I had kites around here :)

Hi Adams - agree with Gus on the crop and the boost to the BG will make him POP.
    Like it - congrats :)

Adam -- nice shot. I agree with wanting to see it larger. FYI, the Swallow-tailed kite working group runs a citizen science project to measure STKI breeding range and habitat. If you want to help, you can report your sighting at --

Very nice capture, Adams. Bigger in the frame would be nice but you have good details and even a lizard! Congrats.
