I'm in a passerine mood lately... The little birds are so happy right now - making nests and all.

Captured at Sycamore Canyon in late afternoon sun. The usual process, DPP to CS4. I also used a lighting effect in PS, let me know what you think about that. I had the flash set a little too weak for this situation. Cloned out one little leafy thing in the bg just right of the perch.

Hi Kerry - like this a lot - lovely blue background really makes the bird pop - nice details especially in the eye. Exposure looks good and flash looks good as well.
    Congrats:)

I like it a lot but I tried just doing a scrolling crop and I think it might work by cutting most of the bottom so the oof background does not show as much.

    Kerry,
I like the crop as is. For me, the perch compliments the bird and is a pleasing shape without being distracting. Cropping higher makes the the perch look incomplete. Thanks for sharing.

Really very nice Kerry, the sky looks great, love the soft rich color, the bird is pretty fine too.

Well done. I wonder if a slight contrast boost would do any good? :)

Agree with Akos, slight contrast increase would work well here. Lovely shot!

Thanks for the suggestions, I added some contrast to the image by re-visiting the curves layer. I like it better!
