Thought I would post this here if folks want to know how to do this. Started with the color image and put in Silver efex (nik software) and used the Antique plate ll filter. I then used the burn tool in PS to darken areas I felt were too light.
On the original image since there are such light and heavily shaded areas I used a 3 stop split neutral density filter over the bright areas(square filter positioned over front of lense). In PP I lightened the arch area since it was darkened when I used the filter.

Great using the Neutral density filter !!!

I like the color version as presented Do think you can tweak the b&w for more local contrast Love the perspective !!! Excellent !!

    Hi Dave,
Both are very nice, I have a soft spot for black and white...I would recommend increasing the contrast and adjusting your black level...good show...

Hi Dave - like them both - agree with AL - the b&w needs a bit more punch for my tastes - like them :)

Dave, I like the comparison-Sometimes it's interesting to see the before and after and also different takes on the same image. I like them both for different reasons.

Holy poop! :D The B&W version really pulls me in. I much prefer that to the color. Much more. It is really atmospheric and old looking too. Well done mate. :)
