Photographed in the Hawkesbury at a spot called Bushells Lagoon where I almost stepped on a specimen some months earlier. A beautiful snake, though highly venomous and serious illness can result from a bite. I captured this using a 30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM and 1.4x. Cannot remember settings and file has not got exif. Will add later. Cropped to 70% of the original.

It was swimming toward me and a friend who is terrified of snakes, so in the end I couldn't let it get much closer. :(

    Close enough for me :)

This may look good as a pano crop, due to the position of the snake. There's a magenta look to the catch light tht may be fixed easily.
    Keep them coming!

Find snakes difficult to photograph and you nailed this one, Sure like the pano crop !!!
