    I am trying really hard to get a good shot of one a these guys. So far, this may be the best:). Handheld.

    Camera Model: NIKON D300
    Shutter speed: 1/1600 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    Exposure mode: Manual
    Flash: Off
    Metering mode: Multi-segment
    ISO: 400
    Lens: VR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D
    Focal length: 400mm

    Dan, I never saw a Meadowlark in flight-at least not a photo of one! nice capture,couldn't have been easy!

    Hi Dan - speedy little fellows, I guess!! Love the olours and is sharp - good work with the 80-400 - not the easiest lens for BIF.

    Dont mean to offend but IMHO - this is going to get you arrested by the Pancake police... Generally called the pancake pose - a generally unflattering pose - prefearably you waNt the wings fully up or fully down for BIF.

    Keep them coming :)

    Amazing you got him with that lens Dan !! Not the fastest focusing around but does show that if you acquire and track it will work just fine !! Got one now get one closer :) .... btw I don't even have one like it !!!

    Does look like a torpedo Dan. Good going to get this shot. Wonderif a pano crop would make him look speedier.
