Hi all. I'm a new member and wanted to post an image for critique but my posting rules say that I may not post attachments. Any help?

    Hi and welcome Ken

You can link a picture from another website with the little yellow box that has a grey mountain through it above the message window when you create the post. Or if you do purchase membership, that will allow you to attach an image of 1,024 x 800 pixel at max. 200kb to each message.

    Hope this is helpful. :)

Big Thanks Akos right on !!!

    Big Warm Welcome Kevin !!!

Neat looking Cardinal in the snow !! Didn't see the exposure compensation but could be a little underexposed Check histogram.

For snow the easiest way to expose is to meter on snow and open one and one half stop. The light seemed to be coming from the left side making the right in shadows.... best to have frontal lighting. One other thing is having the bird closer to one of the corners, best area to have a small bird in frame !!! Looking forward to more !!!

Thanks Alfred. I usually err more on the side of not blowing highlights in post, although the original exposure was pretty good. I'll keep the framing in mind for future captures and cropping. I'll post a few more in the next few days.
