Default Brown Pelican - Little Estero Lagoon

1DM2n, 600mm.. Close to full frame

Back so something slightly different... I've been very busy since I got back from Florida, and have been trying to do a number of things! Got a bunch of editing done a few days after getting home, but hardly any for a few days now. I counted this one in the "different" category, even though its still fairly tame! Once again, very little photoshop. Looks very similar right out of the camera!

I had a good time at Little Estero Lagoon, but not great. The worst weather of my trip hit while I was there, and very few (if any) "unusual" species were around. Still had a great time getting creative with the more common species!

Happy Shooting! Will hopefully have some time to be a bit more active in posting comments soon!

The rim-lighting here is absolutely superb! I love how the highlighted water droplets also add action to this flight image. The composition looks great and the dark background adds to the drama. Well executed photograph, Brandon!

Appologies for not getting this up earlier! Was pretty tired last night. Thanks for the comments :) I'm self taught when it comes to photography, and probably do a bunch of things most dont! (or wouldn't)... I always shoot in manual mode, and do a quick histogram check to make sure I have the exposure I want! (which is all I did here...) I was hoping to get a Great Egret striking the water, when the pelcian came in to feed (so I was already set for exposure). So all I had to do was run up and down the lagoon edge, each time the pelican struck the water. I got into position and waited for the take off!

    Happy Shooting!
