I like the light here, it really highlights the face. The snow flake is fun. The eye and face are sharp, exposure good. The wings effectively frame the face, which for me is the subject of the picture.
Very tight in the frame, might try just a bit looser framing, esp. top and front, if you have it. Might toy with lightening the shadowed portion of the eye.
The break on the left, between snow and background does pull my eye away from the bird somewhat.
Bill, I love this image. I think the tight framing and focal point illustrate the power and determination of this predator. The spotlight on the face is a wonderful addition.
Bg does not bother me to much. Imo its the only thing that tells me what season is is. Snow flake could have been a feather but with the bg I know what it is. Sorry Randy. I like this shot as is and I think its super. Well done. Guess its taste
