    “Mr. Concentration”

This fellow was photographed a few weeks ago at Anhinga Trail in Florida’s Everglades National Park. Our resident Doctor Davis was talking to him trying to get him to look my way, but he simply would not listen; he was busy looking at his soon to be lunch. Mr. Concentration was painted with a Nikon D70s, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D - IF-ED , with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

    Image solution:
    focal length @ 765mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / ISO @ 400 / 1/3200sec. - f/5.6 / white balance @ auto / AF - mode @ dynamic range, auto - continuous / color space @ sRGB /lighting solution - no speedlight, ambient light / exposure comp @ +0.3EV / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - no tripod, hand held /

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Hi Gus - love the super close up pose - and the details and the colours :)
Crop is different - but I like it :)

I like tight view... going after body parts is a great option

... btw this shows a point rather strongly !!! Generally the position of the eyeball makes a difference .. so when the bird is looking at you "looks" better than looking away ... all with a proper head angle !!!!

Gus, like the tight crop focusing on his sharp eye. Good job!

Very nice and tight crop Gus. Love it. Do you think it is a little too sharp?
