    Default Divergent turtles

I found these two in a small pond in the Back Bay NWR in Virginia Beach, VA. They paid no attention to my presence, unlike most of their bretheren who slid into the water at my merest movement.

I liked the diagonal arrangement they had gotten themselves into; the light is of course harsh, but then that's what a turtle wants on a chilly March afternoon!

Olympus SP-570UZ, 43.1mm zoom; ISO 64, f/8.0, 1/125sec; -1 exposure adjustment. Processing in PSE Raw, for saturation, clarity, light, blacks, contrast. Minimal cropping on left and bottom; the turtle on the right is right on the URH corner of my original frame, so that determined the composition overall.

Comments welcome, and thanks for looking!

    Massimo,

As you mentioned, the diagonals work well and are always strong in compositions.

Getting them so tight hurts the image however. If possible, you should have backed up, zoomed out, changed lens, whatever you might have been able to do.

    Massimo,
some more space around the turtles would be better. The diagonal composition helps. The image also looks small. You can upload a bigger picture with the longest diagonal at 800.

Thanks for your responses--I agree that more room would have been a real improvement, but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it now. I still like the turtles.

Regarding posting larger--for reasons I can't figure out, this file is 195KB, which is barely under the maximum allowed. It really IS very small, but why? My original file is approx. 10.5"x10.5".

    Advice?

    Thanks,
    Massimo
