I played with the vibrance / warmth settings in Nik Color Efx Pro to bring out the color detail. Let me know if you think it's too saturated

Hi Michael, I'm not finding it too saturated, but I do find the detail a little coarse...as if cropped a good bit? It is also tight in the frame, you could put some canvas back in. Looks like a younger fellow with the stray tufts on the head? Interesting how the heron is perched at the tip of the downward branch.

It doesn't look oversaturated to me. I like the details and pose and would give it more room.

minor crop only. The highlights were a little hot so I had to tone them down on raw conversion... over sharpened?

Only the tufts on the head look a bit jagged.

Michael... Beautiful light, nice pose and sharp. Only thing I would do is add more canvas. Not sure what Axel means regarding the tufts. They look sharp to me and they are what they are....

Colors look true to the light we had. Tightness has been mentioned.

It was great to see you :)
