    Hello,

    I took this photo during my weekend visit to San Elijo Lagoon (San Diego, CA).

    Comments and critique on composition, post-processing and other aspects are most welcome.

    Good one overall, but there is one thing to watch out for in the future: "horizon" lines that cross the face or head. See how the line where water meets grasses crosses the pelicans head? For me that is one thing I always look for to avoid as it distracts from the most important part of the subjest: it's head. If you were able to get down about a foot more the line would have crossed the body instead - although I know this isn't always possible.

    Exposure looks great, as does sharpness. I do wish the head angle was turned a few degrees more towards us. I do like the image very much...keep them coming! :-)

    I like the soft light, details and calm water. I agree with Daniel's comments and would crop a bit off the top.
