    Default Swooping Great Egret

Estero Lagoon. From Artie's SW FLA IPT last month. Here is one that I liked of the flying Great Egrets. Although the water is from the lagoon I like how the colour is very sea-like.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @310mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f7.1, ISO 400, +0.7 EC, handheld, cropped to help composition (about 80% full-frame)

Great light, pose and exposure control. I might put the bird a tad higher in the frame.

    Daniel:

A nice one. I like how the bird works both of the diagonals. Per Axel, perhaps a bit higher in the frame, via small crop from top or add back a bit from below. I like the size of the bird in the frame, so would be more inclined to crop a bit from the top.

    Thanks for sharing.

Dan, I like the banking egret here. Good eye contact and exposure on the whites. The black legs offer nice contrast from the white bird and pale blue lagoon.
