    I had a better morning with the Kites! I was shooting handheld from the car window. The bird is kiting into the wind and looking at me! Pretty tight crop on this one. PP'ed in CS3, selectively sharpened with Nik Sharpener Pro.

    I like the pose and eye contact and would sharpen more and increase contrast. The little bit of vegetation could go or maybe a wider vertical crop.

    I really like the pose, and head turn. Image appears a bit soft.

    Thanks guys. I revisited the original file and started the sharpening over and I guess that the image just isn't sharp:(. The 2nd post here is from the same series and seems a little sharper. I added contrast and didn't include the sprig. EXIF is the same as 1st post.

    I actually like the first version too. It has some soft dreamy feel. The eye on the first is selectively
    sharp so the overall feel is not one of not sharp enough but soft on purpose.
    I agree about including more of the vegetation or getting rid of it.
