    Took this shot on the River Calder in Lancashire inthe Northwest of England,close to were I live,I had to crouch down in the river to get a low shot of this bird,there are now 3pair around this spot getting ready to breed.thanks.cannon 40d,400mm prime +1.4x,1/2000sec,f8.0,iso800,have noticed noise in bg,was not like this till I uploaded.thanks for any comments good or bad.

    Very nice image,I would tone down the OOF green in the right hand corner though.

    Hi Christopher I like the pose, head position, framing and overall feel !! All make for a fine image The UR corner you could also desaturate a bit for better blending and less attention !! Like it a lot !!!

    Neat bird, I love its long orange legs. I'd just add that a round of noise reduction on the background would help as well.

    Beautifully sharp. I like your capture along the rock. I think the foreground grass and OOF RUQ complement each other. You might clone out the last blade of grass far left, lower corner.
