Very nice job on a bird I have trouble making look good. The fill flash is the secret here I think. Nice balance of detail in the blacks, with attractive transillumination of the lighter wing feathers.
Fabs comment about the head makes me wonder, if there is a real tendency to blow the red channel because of the dark body, which results in lack of detail in the head and apparent unsharpness? I will have to look at some of my vulture images with that in mind.
