Now that is one long tail for a hummingbird!! They look pretty cool when they fly though. Months ago thumbing through the field guide for Ecuador this was definitely one that I wanted to photograph. So I was happy to find a nice male and get him with a nice pose a few weeks back.

    Cheers!

Great pose, soft light and that tail is amazing. I would love to see this bird in flight. It could go a tad brighter for my taste.

Really love the symmetry in the way the tail curves to the right and the branch curves to the left. A slightly brighter bird as mentioned above might just make this perfect.

Beautiful! Does that tail slow them down any in comparison to other hummers, or do they flit and flitter just like the rest?

Lovely image Glenn with a great head turn. The tail is amazing. I wish that I had had such a perch with the hummers in Costa Rica when I was there last week.

Excellent pose of a very unusual bird. I would take out the lower two OOF branches, the long downward pointing splinter and the little stump that passes behind the tail as they tend to draw my eye from the bird.
