First visit to Gatorland, and it lived up to the great reviews. Background can be a challange there. Taken 3/16/09, under partly cloudy sky.

Hi Dick - Love that pose and the flowing plumes - congrats on your first visit to gatorland - hope to get there myself some day.

Your whites are pushing the envelope in a few spots - a multiply layer would probably fix them, Not sure about this guys red eye, assume it's not supposed to be red like it is. The bush in the lower left hand corner is unfortunate were it interfers with those gorgeous plumes.
    Looking forward to seeing more.

    Sweet bg Dick !!!

Looks like a Venice image !!! Smoking looking bird in great display Only other suggestion I can make is making a layer and sharpening the face area a bit more. Would like to see the feathers on the side sharper also but might create halos. I probably would have used the very same f stop since I wouldn't want the bg coming into play !!! Big Congrats on a keeper !!!

Nice capture Dick, especially the light hitting the eye.... and yes, they can be that red! Well done, glad you had a good time visiting the park!

Lovely pose Dick, you did well with harsh light. Is this a mating display?
