    40D, 1-400L @ 400mm, f6.3, 1/400s, ISO 800, +1/3 EC, monopod mount, pretty big crop.

    Beautiful colors and a nice pose on this one Steve... this has a dreamy mood to it (for lack of a better word) - maybe the crop gave it this feel? Hope to see more.

    Steve, This looks so nice -the crop and colors are great. Nice eye contact-I like it alot.

    This is SWEET, Steve. Almost a painterly look. Hope you can get a few more in closer--but this one is lovely.

    Yes, this is quite overly and dreamy. And sweet, soft colors. The BKGR is superb. And the bird's eye is sharp. The edges of the bird look as if some Gaussian blur on the bKGR mmay have spilled over onto the bird (adding to the dreamy look). Did you do something like that on the BKGR?

    Art,
    I did do a couple of passes of blur on the BG and overall image to counter the huge crop. I wasn't as careful as I should've been with the selection as I was just doing a quick look/edit when I went with the copy on hand for a quick post and critique.
