Default Assignment Landscape: Window to Heaven

I don't usually take landscapes, but here is my contribution to the current assignment. Took this early one morning last summer. Any C&C are welcome!

    Olympus SP-550 UZ
    f8.0 @ 1/1600, ISO 100, 0.0 EV
Program mode, pattern metering, auto WB
Processed in PS CS2; curves adjustment, saturation increase, S/H, noise reduction, cloning to remove tree branches in ULC, and cropped a bit from the bottom

    Hi Christopher,
I like the sky and the cloud formation...the roof top takes away from your beautiful sky. Perhaps by walking around to acquire a better capture angle, would have done this justice...looking forward to your next one...

Hi Chris I also like the cloud framing very much and light intensity, they do make for compelling images. The bottom as Gus suggested does take a way from the image, sure it had all trees framing it !!!

    Hi Chris,
Very good advice on the roof given above......while I don't generally recommend getting rid of objects.......I decided to do it anyway......to better show what Gus and Al were saying about the image......with only the treeline as a border. I also used a small reverse s-curve (check robert's tutorial in the top of the landscape forum under tonal range/contrast tweaks)....and then used shadow highlights...shadows amount 9...tonal range 27......highlights 43 & 50. Then a LCE (another of Robert's tweaks....same place at 20 and 35. Those 2 adjustments really popped the sky. Let me know your thoughts.

Christopher, Good eye on the cloud formation and catching that bit of opening. Agree w/ others on the bottom-but nicely seen.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. Roman, it does look a lot better without the roof. I'll experiment with the tweaks that you mention. Thanks!

I was going to say crop it out Christopher, but I like what Roman has done. Also the light behind the clouds has some extra pop which really makes your image shine. VWD.
