    Beautiful. I especially like the background colors and the shadow of the stick on the inside of the wing.

    Oh, I know that glorious BG, you were standing as you come in and pass the first turn, facing the island :)
    Lovely capture. I may soften the detail in the BG with a bit of gaussian blur to reduce the contrast on it.

    Great light and eye contact. I agree regarding blurring the BG more and might sharpen the bird more.

    Lovely photo Denise. The repost sharpening brings out additonal detail nicely. One of the things which caught my eye was the aperture setting. Perhaps you were using Tv mode and f/6.3 is a camera selection?

    Dave, I was using AV-I was trying to blur the BG a bit -that's why I used a 6.3 - Is that wrong?

    Neat shot Denise, I like the alert look on the heron's face and the stick it's carrying. I prefer the repost.
