    Default Black Brant

A terrible stormy, windy day here in the PNW--no going out for images, so I played around with some left overs.
The Brants are sure beautiful, but they are not easy. :) Every one of them has a different face. Pretty cool.

A Black beauty Bonnie! I really like the detail in the blacks even at the expense of some blown whites. Good BG, sharpness and comp. Way to go:)

    Bonnie,

Tough bird with the black and white plumage and strong light to boot but as Dan mentioned, detail good in dark feathers and white still looking OK on rear with some other areas lacking detail.

I am debating if I would prefer to see this cropped from the bottom at the reflection just above the strip on the neck.

The lighting is tough but I really like the bird's expression. It's nice you could get so close with the 300. The brants I've experienced have been fairly skittish and if they don't fly away, the waddle away as quickly as they're able. :)

Nice work with the exposure and details on this one... I tend to agree with Roberts idea regarding a crop along the bottom.

Nice looking bird with good catchlight and I like the expression too. BG is nice as well. Interesting to hear about their faces. Not sure but I think I'm seeing a ghost clone of his head on the BG just above the tail right at head level?
