    Default Contorting in high-key.

This juvie Brown Pelican was offering some interesting poses while preening close-by. I absolutely loved the strong geometric themes visible so I had to try my luck. The trick was to get the eye visible as it was mostly hidden behind the neck. It finally pulled back a bit and allowed me to get this one image before it started to slowly swim away. Some thick fog that morning caused most of the water reflections being greyish or bright white, hence the BG.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @250mm, manula exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/8, ISO 640 (exposure histogram checked), fill-flash @ -0.3 FEC, handheld, full frame.

    Daniel:

The lines are very good in this one. I like the repeating line of the neck and the raised wing. Going high key was definetly the way to show these off. Nice exposure on the bird.

    "Well seen"

    Cheers
