I saw this guy very close to the road way. So I drove around and stopped my car to see if I was able to get him. It took me around 1 hour but I finally got a few decent shots. I'm sure my client was happy to wait for me! :)
In Japan we call this specie "NIHON KIJI" where "KIJI" means Pheasant and "NIHON" Japan. Since I don't know much about Pheasants I am wondering if these guys are found only in Japan. We have many other varieties here. Maybe someone can give some info about them.
All comments welcome..... Cheers!

Can't help you with the geographic distribution of this species, but I can tell you that the similar asian species "Ring-necked Pheasant" was introduced to North America long ago and is fairly widespread (and hunted in some areas). Here's one I posted last year in case you're curious to see what it looks like compared to the "Green Pheasant"
As for the image itself, the light angle wasn't at it's best for you, and I would raise the colour temperature some to give it more "warmth". You got a great pose out of it (and perfect head angle), and the low and unobstructive surroundings look great too. Comp look good with more room in front of the subject.
