Image from Samburu, Kenya. It's over 100 degrees and this three or four day old elephant calf is moving as fast as it's little legs can carry it, keeping cool in the shadow of its mother. This is a slide scan so no detailed exposure information available. I hope you like it. C and C welcome, I'm here to learn. - John

I do like it. The little one is cute for sure.

My only wish is for a little more light on mom's eye.

Lovely image John, great to capture both in a perfect position. Have never been able to get a good shot of such a young elephant, they're usually surrounded by a protective herd. Congratulations!

I love the poses here...and the size difference really makes this photograph. However, the light is a bit too harsh for my taste.

Peter, I used Shadow/Highlight and then reduced vibrance. Is this any better? - John

    John,
I love watching these mother and child scenes. The difference in the scale makes this image. The repost brings out details better. Thanks for sharing.

Repost is better for sure. Love the comp here, the striking difference in body size is interesting...

    John,

Repost looks good. Showing the size differential is what makes this image most interesting and I like the comp too. Not sure if anyone noticed but the slope of the adults back matches the BG mountains quite well.
