This is another image from Shark Valley a few weeks ago. (Artie, we are new to the location and thought there were quite a few birds, but Alfred and Fabs said it was kind of sparse.) This Tricolor was fishing and took his meal to the shore to consume. It was fun following him with the camera.

1DMK2 with 100-400 at 235. Manual exposure with ISO 400 and f 5.6 and 1/2500. Slightly cropped from the left, selective sharpening on the bird only.

Thanks for looking. All comments are most welcome and appreciated.

OK I'm embarrassed! I wrote GBH instead of Tricolor. I don't seem to be able to get the edit button to work, so I thought I would post again to correct the typo.

I went to another computer and fixed it!!!

I like the landing pose, details and setting and would put the bird further to the left in the frame or alternatively make it a vertical crop.

Good job on stopping the action here. I love the pose with its wings extended and landing gear out. Your sharpness and feather detail are excellent. I agree with Axel on the framing tips and might also suggest cloning out the OOF branch in the lower right corner.

Axel and Joel, I like the vertical suggestion. Here it is. What do you think??
