The eye contact is great as is the slight lean to his right. But I would have put him slightly more to the right in the frmae if possible

Agree with Per-Gunnar's assessment Steve. More right in the frame will balance the lean better IMO.

Great looking light quality in the image - very soft. I like the background sky and hint of cloud. You would not want that any more dramatic as the coyote is the center of interest. Gaze is the icing on the cake.

Steve, The eyes are so powerful-I love the strong look to him. Really nice composition. I like it as presented but could go with suggested crop.

Thanks for the suggestion. Another version with recrop in mind (cropped from posted image).

Beautiful. I too would like to have seen the subject farther to the right, but I would have preferred to have been done in a way that showed a little more of that cloud that is hinted at in the upper left.

I think the color in the cloud is muted enough that it wouldn't have detracted from the subject.

I'd say, lose the 3:2 and go for a panoramic approach, so that you emphasize the gaze. I love the light quality and facial expression...those eyes and especially those "eyelashes" really make this one!

    Good one Steve!

The depth of field is nice. It is tough to use f22 and get sharpness. I have had similar experiences of accidentally changing the mode of my 10D, 40D. The sound of the shutter made me realise and I looked back, but by then the interesting pose of the tiger had gone.

I would have loved some more space at the bottom.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I like the angle and the sky in the background. Very piercing eyes as well!
