Anhingas? I like the head and bill positions relative to each other. BG is quite busy, but also indicative of the habitat surrounding the nests there (except for the "better" ones located near the edges that feature clean far OOF BGs). I also see some colour noise, especially heavy at top. The light certainly was not in your favour here and the image seems a tad overexposed (-1.67 was the right idea, but not quite enough), did you manage to get some earlier in the day?

    Hi Daniel,
Most of the early ones were not very good focus wise and I was late and could not get a good spot. I forgot I was at ISO 800. I think my best image was a movie I took using the 5D. It wasnt very good either, too jerky but I was using the 500 f/4 and just doing my 2nd movie because a nice young lady said "why arent you doing movies of the rookery with the 5D"? I am still learning the full frame on the 5D and settings are coming along OK but still tweaking. Getting good images now, great ones sometimes, bad ones sometimes but still using it. Am loving it though for the detail at 21MP, Another world so to speak.

Hi Joe, Probably a 80% crop from the original.

Question??? When using a long lens with stabilization, do you leave stabilization on or off when on a tripod????????

Bill, at 1/2500 s/s you don't need IS. You should use IS in mode 2 as far as I can remember and its OK to leave on in tripod. Canon users can correct me if I'm wrong.
Chicks are very cute, but the light was too harsh to render a nice image. You can go back with nicer light and will do much better, although the BG would need some help.
There is noticeable chroma noise in the dark part of the BG.

Thanks Fabs. I will try mode 2 IS the next time out.
