I like the unusual pose and setting. I might give it a bit more room, selectively sharpen the head and desaturate the yellows a few points.
The eye contact is really good here, as is the color palette. I don't mind the leaf covering part of the bird because you can still see all of the 'important' parts. I would apply a little more sharpening to the bird. Having never seen one of these, I can't comment on desaturating the yellows.

Ditto the shapening. Also like the comp and colours here. Great work well done
Agree on nice pose and BKGR. The yellows are in fact too saturated. How do I know? I opened the JPEG and the yellows showed as over-exposed in a Levels check.
De-SAT-ing the yellows would likely bring back detail and yield an acceptable histogram without any over-EXP.

Pretty cool for the reasons mentioned, and the suggested tweaks will push this image even better :-) Just a couple of months now before we start seeing these guys and other warblers up here!!
Nits mentioned , I like this comp. very much.
Here folks is a re-post of the image with the suggestions corrected, I hope to everyone's liking.
Better, but the face could go lighter and the neck looks too contrasty/over-SAT-ed. Did you work on the JPEG or did you go back to the optimized master file?
