I got this guy today flat on my belly.
The technique is good in this case too, not only
for shorebirds :)
No crop, full frame, saturated a bit, sized,
sharpened edges.

Yes, to crop or not is the question. Normally I would put the head/eye in the
point where the thirds intersect. In this case however the head is much smaller
than the body so I think the body sets the equilibrium in this one, especially with the
green patch being a center of attention. Since I got the body to fill two thirds horizontally
I decided to leave as it is and not crop. I'm glad you like it this way too.
i may back the saturation back in those greens? it is an interesting pose. i might sharpen the eye just a tad too. nice in camera compo. i like the no crop images. lots more detail!
