Here is another image from our recent trip to Florida. We saw this egret at Shark Valley early in the morning. I like the way the wings are outstretched but you can still see his head, and his feet and beak are just barely in the water.

40D with 100-400 at 135, manual exp at ISO 1250 (it was early in the morning) f6.3 1/2500 cropped to about 2/3 of original. Noise Ninja and selective sharpening applied.

Thanks for looking. All comments welcome.

Nicely done. I love the curved breeding plumes above the tail and the curve of the wings. Similar behaviors are more typical of Snowy Egret. Would have liked a lot more room in front. (If you realize that on the spot you can oftern take the 2nd needed frame for a stitched pano (after setting the EXP manually.)

Were there many birds at Shark Valley? Did you walk in?

    Hi Gail,
I like this very much...especially the radial wing stretch and the head in the down position...The dark hues and tones of the background makes you subject stand out...good show...looking forward to your next capture...

Welcome Gail. Great wing position and your details on the whites are superb.
