Great portrait/head angle Denise! Minor improvements for me would be, QM out the bright sticks in the upper left BG, clone out the white thing on the calfs beard and maybe it's my eyes this morning but I think a bit more sharpening of the animal wouldn't hurt. Very nice over all:).

Dan, There is water dripping on his beard or are you talking about the white markings on him.
Wasn't sure about the sharpening-it looked odd to me ,maybe I can do more than posted but less than I had tried. Thanks Dan . Always a pleasure to hear from you!

This works better for me Denise! I am going back and forth on the two versions and they are both very nice. You could even do a version where you just sharpen the face/eye/ears:D. It's all good:).

Hey Denise, I decided to go for the gusto :)

Selected the darker parts of the face with quick mask (you can use your preferred selection tool) and put them in a separate layer, ran a curves adjustment to lift the shadows and flattened the layers. Then went to Focal point, cause I know you wanted to try it and changed the f/ stop :) opening it up.
After that, with the clone stamp at very low opacity, I softened the lines in the upper left. Softened the line of shadow in the upper leg and cropped off the left and there you go. Some may find it un-natural but I like it, what do you think?

Fabiola did just what I would have suggested. Like the comp and the grass frame him well.

I like the changes made. I like the framing with the grasses. Some more sharpening in the eye would have looked better.

Nice pose, detail, and comp. I like the framing you did with the FG grasses.

A fine portrait of the moose. The reworked version by Fabs is good.. Not sure you could get the eye any sharper but that would be nice.

Very nice image of the youngster, Denise. The comp and expression work very well. Nice work. I like Fab's pp job.

Nice portrait and colors. I would like to see a little more room around the subject and just open the shadows a little.
