I'm loving the low angle! Specially in that mud. The exposure is very good, these birds are very hard to expose correctly and you have done it well. Great feather detail!

Excellent details on the feathers, and nice pose!

    Hi Sergey,
Welcome from a fellow Ukrainian! Very nicely handled with the blacks....great detail throughout. The flash may have filled in a bit of the detail on the underside...but it appears the sun angle was from the top...although nicely diffused. I would crop a bit off the top lighter area....further emphasizing the pose. You may also want to try a reverse s-curve to lower the contrast a touch and bring up the fine feather detail in the shadow areas.

Hi Sergey. The bird itself looks great, especially the mud on the beak. I think the bright BG tends to overpower the detail in the darks. I would tone down the brightness of the BG a little.

Great bird, favorite... Nice job with the feather details. Agree with above on the BG.

My word - what did you do ... dig a trench in the mud and crawl down into it???

Sometimes I seriously wonder how you folks here get the angles you do.

I shot a pair of ravens this week (even got lift-off) but there is NO WAY I am gonna show them after seeing this one!

    Cheers,
    Sue

Wonderful capture Sergey. Absolutely perfect exposure and the angle makes it as well as the mud. It would probably work very nicely as a B&W conversion too. :)
