I really like the pose and the blue/clean bg!

    Kobus:

A beuatiful image of a beautiful bird. Sharp, well exposed, good head angle, great wing position, beak open.

The only tiny thing I might be tempted to try, would be to burn the perch in a bit so it is dimmer, perhaps lower contrast and doesn't merge with the wing. Again, minor point, but it is a lovely image, and worth a tiny tweak. I also might crop in just a bit from right, and add a tiny bit of canvas at top.

Thanks for sharing this beauty, and welcome back!

What a terrific pose! I might be tempted to sharpen the feathers on the back a little.

    Hey Kobus,

Had a look at one of these on ODP earlier and I must say that I like the pose but the the "looking down on it" and head away spoils it for me. Agree with the sharpening of the back.

I have only been back to MV once since I planted that stick ... but the little guys seem to love it.

    Cheers for now.

Welcome back, Kobus. Lovely pose, colours and feather details. Agree with the suggestion of burning the perch a little. I really like the open bill and head angle. DOF covers the bird well.

    Hi Kobus,
Wow....what a wing pose! Agree that toning down the perch would only further emphasize the bird. I do like tight crops.....but if you aren't against such things....adding a bit of canvas up top wouldn't hurt.
    Still....one sweet image!
