    Default Purple Martin, female

Captured today at Wakodahatchee using Alfred's Mark III, I don't have a camera until next week when I get mine back. I have to say the camera is not a good match to my photographing style.

    1d3, 500/4, tripod mounted
    f/5.6, 1600, ISO 640

BG changed with Viveza (it was washed out)

Very sharp for a flight shot of these bullets. Great eye contact and I love the fanned out tail.

Excellent sharpness and feather detail, Fabs. Do you know what the little white spots under the tail and on the far wing are?

    I like it Miss Fabs,
You display sharp details with good color rendition. I like the spread wings and the flight angle...:) Soooo...when are you coming back to the dark side???:D:cool:

This is one fine shot of a very fast bird. Comgrats to you. But why the switch? You always did great stuff with your old equipment.

Tony, I can only guess feather wear?
They are in the original file.

Joe, I wanted to switch because of the cost of Nikon equipment, but my idea only lasted a week. Going back to the dark side :)

    Thanks everyone!

Fabs - gorgeous image - love the pose and the sharpness.....

Welcome back to the Darkside :) I am with you on just doesn't suit me, I have sold Canon Camera's for years and have used them as well, take some getting used to - But the thing I could never get used to (From a Dealers point of view) was the comany's arrogance (Might be different over there).

Wow--that is an amazing image, Fabs! Incredible details and wonderful pose.
Looks great to me even if it was taken with a Canon! ;):D

Great capture Fabs.... nice detail, and the eye contact is sweet. Is your method for changing the background something unique, or a well known method? Just curious.

It's Nik's plugin, Viveza, that works in control points. You select a color and can change the brightness, saturation and manipulate the Red, Green and Blue on it.

    Thanks!

Impressive image of this fast bird. Despite the fact that you don't feel comfortable with the Canon stuff you have a very nice image taken...so the 1D MKIII isn't that bad after all. I hope I can capture these fast creatures in this great sharpness with all the details and the nice eye contact.

Thanks Fabs, I was wondering whether they may be little ectoparasites. Maybe John will know.

I quite agree with Dan, for a flight shot the sharpness is super, love the tail fan too.
