Went back in AM with better light. Very cooperative subject. Used my Sony A100 with a Sigms 50-500 lens. Data - f/7.1, 1/125, +1.0 ev, 500mm, fill flash. Thanks for looking, John

    Hi John,
I like the capture...you have sharp details and a very good head angle...I would recommend opening up the eyes just a tad and selective sharpening them...good show...

Hi John - very nice - really like the nice clean background. Agree with Gus on the techs - good job.

My only wish would be that he was standing on the perch on the closest side to the camera.

    KEEP them coming :)

Agree with comments and would bump contrast a bit !!! Might want to set up a natural perch? .. never worked for me :) ... and just getting one perched there is an accomplishment !!! I like it a lot !!!

I didn't set the perch. These Owls are protected here and volunteers set pvc pipes around nest with "crime" type tape and set the perches. This was a nest near my home at the local little league park. I'll post that eye.

I like the light and pose John. Might do some guano removal too. Great eye contact.
