In last week's visit to Orana Park Wildlife Reserve in Christchurch I took this image of a Black & White Ruffed Lemur. Captive animal on their small island.
Well worth listening to park staff who advised that on Madagascar after a hurricane these lemurs do not breed for 3 years and they have a lot of hurricanes !!!
Thank goodness for inter zoo breeding programmes.
    Details:Heavy overcast,mid-morning.
    Pentax K10D with Tamron 70-300 @ 300mm.Matrix metered.
    1/250 @ F5.6 about 50% crop.

    Ian,

I like the pose on the post top - direct gaze powerful. I know you had a tough lighting situation here and if flash was a possibility, some fill flash would have brought out the details in the dark fur. Your whites look blown on the head. I am not too crazy about the BG but such places do make getting clean BG's difficult.

    Thanks Robert
I also felt head gloss a bit over the top but it took your comment to consider my options.
Here is a repost with quite a bit of contrast reduction.

Nice repost, Ian, I feel the BG would improve if you crop the two sides getting the greens out, it may look more uniform. He's got pretty eyes :)
