Thanks for your answer, Ramon, but which camera did you try.
I asked about renting because you aren't forced to make a difficult purchasing decision IF you can rent, instead.
I tryed a D700 Scott. As I said, right now it is impossible for me to go t the Dark Side, so I am sticking with Canon but in the future I do weant to make the change...
About renting, here in Argentina there a few places where one can rent equipment but is too expensive, so it is not an option specially if I already do have my own...
A) Far prefer the build quality and ergonomics of the D2X / Xs. While the LCD is nice on the 300, it's just an LCD...I use it mainly for looking at the histogram.
B) ISO 400 and below...definetly prefer the IQ of the X / XS at ISO 400 and below. The D2 has something IQ wise at those levels that the D300 doesn't.
C) Above ISO 400, I prefer the D300.
D) Personally, I still prefer the CAM 2000 of the D2 series for fast moving BIF photography.
The D3 / D700 would be sweet IQ wise if they had enough pixels for the area I live in and photograph at.
My ultimate would be a 1D3 at 15 MP that still had a 1.3 crop, as clean a file as they do now, AF that worked consistently and a Nikon 500 VR :)
