I like the eyes. Dof is adequate. A higher fstop would have been helpful as well, if possible. I did minor tweaking and increased the contrast a bit.

Hi John, Nice composition and beautiful animal. I like the way he looks. Impressive quality coming from your scan. Sabyas repost seems to draw in some noise, something I experienced with my scanner. What scanner are you using ?

Hi Peter, Thank you for your kind comments. I'm using a Nikon Super CoolScan 5000 with LaserSoft, SilverFast software. Unfortunately Nikon refuses to support their scanner under Mac OS 10.5 Leopard, so I had to purchase a 3rd party app. - John

Sabyasachi's tweaks make the image shine. John, your slide scans are looking real good.

Like the positioning and posture though having the eyes look at you would have been over the top. I have only photographed primates in captivity but it seems very hard to get those types of images so what do I know.

I would clone out the catch light streak in the eyes - it seems distracting to me.
