a marbled godwit from tampa bay. i found these guys the most challenging to get a proper head angle. have to take many images and hope for the best!!

D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/9, 1/1250s, -0.7EV, ISO 400. decent shutter speed and f/9 had that lens in it's sweet spot!! minimal PP work. cleaned up a dust bunny and accentuated the catchlight in the eye.

thanks for looking and comments and critiques appreciated.

Hi Harold, Nice light, good background, and good detail. I also like the low angle. The raised foot makes the image in my opinion. I like this one. I was wondering if there was little too much space on the right. However I like it as presented.

    Well done!

Very nice, sir! I like the pano crop and the space in front. Also noticed that the light is concentrated on the bird's head, neck, and body while the lower bill, legs/feet, and tail are all dark. Makes for a nice compositional element!

Great Harold, nice and sharp. Like the low angle too. Was this early morning side lighting? Head looks light and body looks darker.
