Dynamic image! Was the dive successful? I think that it would look better as a SQ with a big crop from the bottom. There is just too much dead space down there.

Welcome to BPN RAul!! Judging from this first post I'm sure you've got some very interesting stuff to share with us :-)

Here is a rare case when the bird flying away from us is actually working nicely. I'm also glad you were able to get some OOF cranes in the BG and the coloured streakings at top are very cool. I'm agreeing with Artie's cropping advice - the comp would be positively strenghted this way.

Welcome to BPN Raul! I really like the habitat inclusion, although I agree with Artie about cropping off the bottom. Usually I like eye contact, but this image works for me as posted. Look forward to seeing more of your images!

    Raul:

Everyone obviously feels strongly about cropping from the bottom, and I agree that some is needed, but when I do very much, I find that I really lose the sense of movement through space. For me, the subject is the dive of the bird, and the cranes and sky are secondary.

So, I will chip in my .02 for a very modest crop up from the bottom, to try and preserve the sense of space. Its almost like not cutting off the virtual feet, for me too much crop cuts off the virtual dive.

Fantastic action and a suiting composition.Maybe I would crop the image just above the cranes
to set the focus more on the falcon.I think the dry grass in the bottom makes the the image balanced.
    Anyway,a really nice capture.
