This image was made during our Florida trip a few weeks ago. Fabs pointed out the beautiful bird and I made a few images. I like the way its feet show up.
1DMK2 with 500 f4 and 2 X TC. ISO 640 f8 1/1600. There is a lot of OOF leaves to the left. I tried everything to get rid of them, but it always looked funny - even using the quick mask method. It just looked unnatural. So, I decided to crop more square and leave some of the stuff there as a kind of environmental feel.
I like it. I like the SQ crop. You did well in relatively harsh light. I would get rid of the white smudge on the upper frame edge.

The blurry foreground doesn't bother me much except for the yellow/orange color of the far left leaf. Perhaps you can selectively tone that down or change the hue/saturation to make it less noticeable.
The image might also tolerate a crop in from the left just enough to cut out that leaf. It would cut the upper leafs back a bit, and tighten the framing a bit, but I think it would be worth a look. I think you would have to crop in the right side just a bit as well, if you went with the left crop.
Hi Ed - like it a lot - these guys do have huge feet - even the chicks have huge feet compared to their tiny little bodies. Colour rendition looks good - Like the pose and HA is good - agree with artie on the white spot.
